Sony announces the small HDR-TG5V Handycam HD camcorder

The Sony HDR-TG5V Handycam camcorder captures 1920×1080 high-definition video and four-megapixel photos. The camcorder has a built-in GPS, antenna and NAVTEQ digital maps so that you can geo-tag your videos and photos.  

The Sony HD camcorder comes with a 16gb memory that lets you record up to 6 hours of high definition video footage (in LP mode). You can also extend the memory using the Memory Stick Pro slot that the HDR-TG5V includes. The HDR-TG5V also supports smile-shutter that automatically takes photos on your friends when they smile, this even works while recording video at the same time. The optic is a Carl Zeiss Vaio-Tessar lens with 10X optical zoom and the camera features a built-in flash.

Accordingly to the Sony pressrelease The HDR-TG5V camcorder will ship in May and cost you about $1,000.
